‘Express Entry PNP draw_ May 27, 2020

PNP Candidates with a CRS score of 757 were invited in the Express Entry draw held on May 27, 2020.

A total number of 385 PNP candidates from the Express Entry pool were invited to apply for Permanent Residency (PR). Candidates with a CRS score of at least 757 who submitted their profile before April 27, 2020, at 10:19:01 UTC were issued Invitation To Apply (ITAs).

Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, which explains the higher cut-off score. The requirement for basic human capital points would have been 157 points without the additional points from the provincial nomination.

2020 has started off as a great year for Express Entry candidates despite the Coronavirus crisis. The frequency of Express Entry draws has increased from the time when Canada announced its travel restrictions on March 18, 2020.

IRCC has held several program-specific draws focusing specifically on PNP and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants. Usually draws which target CEC applicants have a much lower CRS cut-off. It may be recalled that the Express Entry CEC draw held on May 15, 2020, invited candidates with a CRS score of 447 which was the lowest requirement since January 2019.

The May 27, 2020 draw brings the total ITAs issued so far this year to 38,585. It is noteworthy to mention that despite the travel restrictions in place there have still been more ITAs issued this year than at the same time in the Year 2019.

The graph below shows a comparison of ITAs issued to date and annual target admissions since the Express Entry system was launched in 2015:
