The Express Entry program-specific draw under the CEC was held on February 13, 2021. Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. Candidates must have at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada, in the last 3 years before they apply.

A total number of 27, 332 invitations were issued to Canadian Experience Class candidates on February 13, 2021. IRCC ranks candidates in the Express Entry pool using a point-based system known as the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which is calculated based on human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French. A CRS score of only 75 was needed to be invited to apply provided candidates have uploaded their Express Entry profile before September 12, 2020, at 15:31:40 UTC.

The February 13, 2021, Express Entry program-specific draw under the CEC is the 3rd draw of 2021 and brings the total ITAs issued so far this year to 37,986.

On October 30, 2020, the Government of Canada announced in its 2021 – 2023 Immigration Levels plan that 401, 000 new permanent residents (PR) will be welcomed during the year 2021. As per the research conducted by IRCC, it was deduced that those candidates who have Canadian work and/or study experience can easily integrate quickly into the labour market.
