On November 04, 2020, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued targeted Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to candidates who may qualify for Ontario’s

 

 Express Entry Frech-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and
 Skilled Trades Stream

The OINP targeted Express Entry candidates with the following CRS scores:

Mandatory Eligibility Requirements

A. Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
Candidates must need to meet the

1. work eligibility requirements of the
o    Canadian Experience Class, or
o    Federal Skilled Worker Program.
Both programs have their own requirements for work experience and education.

2. Education
o    Canadian Bachelor’s, Master’s or
o    PhD degree OR
o    an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report showing that the foreign education is equivalent to a Canadian Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD

3. Trade certification
o    Candidates must have a valid license or certification from the Ontario College of Trades when submitting their applications. This requirement is irrespective of whether the candidates are currently working or have worked in an occupation in Ontario requiring a license or certification.

4. Current residence in Ontario and legal status in Canada
o    Candidates must be currently residing in Ontario and have a valid work permit at the time they submit their application. OINP also accepts applications from candidates who are on implied status.

5. Intent to live in Ontario
o    Candidates must intend to reside in Ontario by providing a list of established ties to the province of Ontario which can include things like:
 working or have worked in Ontario
 getting job offers or applying/ interviewing for jobs
 studying
 volunteering
 leasing or owning property
 visiting
 having professional networks and affiliations, family ties, and personal relationships

6. Language requirement
o    Minimum CLB 5 in English or French in all four competencies namely listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Valid test results (less than 2 years old) must be obtained from one of the following testing agencies:

 English: IELTS (General Training only) or CELPIP;
 French: TEF or TCF Canada

7. Settlement funds
o    Candidates must possess sufficient funds to cover settlement costs in Ontario. This requirement can be met by bank statements, annual earnings from ongoing employment in Ontario, and/or a job offer in Ontario.
